About Me.

I’m Dr. Ricky Edison, a lifelong educator, leader, and advocate for student success. With nearly three decades of experience in public education—from classroom teacher and coach to principal, superintendent, and district director—I’ve led schools and systems to measurable growth, innovation, and excellence.

After beginning my career teaching government and coaching at University High School, I advanced into campus and district leadership roles where I focused on turning around underperforming schools, improving attendance and engagement, and implementing technology and instructional initiatives. As principal of University High School, I was honored to be named Waco ISD Principal of the Year and led the campus to its first-ever “B” rating and AVID National Site of Distinction. As superintendent of Abbott ISD, our district earned national recognition for academic excellence and extracurricular success, including US News & World Report accolades and Lone Star Cup honors.

My work has always centered on relationships, innovation, and results. Whether improving operations in transportation and attendance at the district level, mentoring new leaders, or guiding school improvement efforts, I bring a servant-leadership mindset and a commitment to excellence in every partnership.

Now through my consulting work, I help schools and organizations implement practical solutions that elevate performance, empower staff, and engage students. I’m passionate about helping leaders and systems succeed—because when educators grow, students thrive.
